Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Former twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
